While exercise and strength training offers numerous health benefits, it is essential to acknowledge the potential risks associated with extreme bodybuilding practices.

In the relentless pursuit of rapid muscle growth and strength gains, some bodybuilders turn to anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. While these substances may yield short-term benefits, their long-term use can have detrimental effects on both physical and mental health.

IFBB Pro Victor Martinez recently revealed in an episode of the Generation Iron Podcast that misuse of diuretics in bodybuilding can pose significant risks and dangers. The artificial manipulation of water balance and electrolyte levels can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, kidney damage, and cardiac complications. Martinez talked about one of his shows for which he was trying to dry out his body and said, “It was too much.” He continued by explaining that “the pros, we still tend to do amateur s**t…what I mean by it’s like we shouldn’t really push that hard to drop water.”

Explaining this further, Martinez stated that dropping the water weight too much can pose harm to the body. “When you take too much water out of your body and body goes into this survival mode or just, you know, lower your blood pressure,” Victor pointed out.

Martinez opened up about a conversation that he recently had with Samir Bannout. He disclosed that Bannout suggested to “stand about you know, 12 feet away, and if you conditioned, then you’re going to be conditioned on stage.” This is not the first time that Martinez has suggested staying away from PEDs and steroids. A while ago, he “crack of steroids.”

Martinez and Ehsan Farahi extensively discussed various compounds used by bodybuilders in a previous podcast with Generation Iron. The duo discussed ‘Tren’ among many other steroids. Farahi pointed out the easy availability of steroids these days and laid emphasis on the “duplicates” that are available in the markets these days.

After Farahi mentioned Tren, Martinez stated, “Tren Is the Crack of Steroids. “You take Tren I mean first you’re gonna have the tren stench, tren skin, tren look. If you are in your 20s you can push it, you’re in your 30s, I wouldn’t recommend you guys running it for that long.” If you’re not competing, just stick to the primos,” continued Martinez.

While using these compounds may yield very quick results, they can lead to serious damage to the physical as well as mental health of an athlete. It is always best to stay away from these compounds as suggested by the Pros themselves….CONTINUE READING
