He was receiving treatment at the Coast General and Referral Hospital after being rushed there following the shocking incident that has been the topic of discussion.

Dr. Iqbal Khandwalla, the Chief Hospital Administrator at the facility, stated that Gituru had sustained severe burns and unfortunately died while admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

The deceased uncle Identified as Samson Gituhu, confirmed that his body is currently being preserved at the hospital’s mortuary.

The incident has left friends and family shocked and disappointed by the loss of a young life.

His former classmate identified as Ahmed Miraj, who spoke to a local media house, confirmed that indeed the late studied at Eldoret University, he shared some insight into the deceased’s life.

According to Miraj, Gituru graduated from Eldoret University in 2021 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

However, their time in university was prolonged due to strikes, causing them to spend seven years instead of the usual four completing their studies.

Miraj mentioned that Gituru appeared frustrated because he had not been able to secure a job despite his qualifications. It is unclear whether this frustration played a role in his decision to set himself ablaze.

“We joined in 2014 but remained in school for seven years instead of four because of the strikes. He appeared frustrated because he had not secured a job,” he was quoted by one of the top media outlets in the country.
