What sort of a person is he we asked? How did he cultivate the kind of humble disposition he has that has made the young, old and even his contemporaries to like him? He also tries to attend to all of them one after the other, without letting anyone feel left out. City People got him to reveal a lot about his life.

“I will attribute that to a great gift, given to me by Allah. Again it has to do with the calibre of people I related with when I was growing. A big brother of mine said something one day, when he was trying to come into an issue. He said Tajudeen, I am an early starter. The man is 82. And I have seen you to be an early starter. Anybody that is an early starter will have the opportunity of a lot of wisdom, because he must have related with a lot of people. I said it earlier on. I grew up in Ebute Metta. Omo Oyingbo ni mi. I am from Oyingbo proper. The people that I moved with when I was in the Primary and Secondary School, College of Education before I went to the University they were always people who were older than me. And what do I do? I am very observant. I observe things. I take note of things. And I keep it in one part of my head. So, when I meet with such challenges, I know how to go about it. So, that my interaction, aside from the people I grew up with, the elders I grew up with, in that great Oyingbo community, where I was elected twice as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

That great community, Oyingbo will forever be blessed. I have never moved out of Oyingbo. I refuse to move out of Lagos Mainland, because that is the community that made me and this is the time to do a give back to society. Hence, my always wanting to be around there, doing one thing or another. That is always my priority.

I left government about 16 years ago, one as a lawmaker, and later as somebody working in the Presidency as the State Co-ordinator of NAPEP in Lagos. Before that, I worked directly with Senator Seye Ogunlewe, who was then Minister of Works at that time. After that, I was at Lagos State Polytechnic. I lectured there. I was at LASUCOM, the Legal Department & Academic Planning.

So, I have really traversed. I was a teacher, because I was an NCE graduate before I went for my 1st degree. All these things helped me to have very, very wide knowledge about life and to also be cautions of my status. No human being is perfect. I make my mistake, but I thank God that he has not let me make a mistake that is destractive to my person.

So, what am I saying? Everything about me, Tajudeen Jaiyeola Agoro is just to the glory of Allah. I cannot explain it. If I say I can explain how I traversed to where I am today, the trajectory of my life, it is a lie. I can’t explain it. It has been the Grace of Allah that has made me get to where I am today.

Today, about 3 of the founding fathers of Eko Club were just praying for me because of the zeal with which I handled the Presidency. It was what they observed. I relate with everyone perfectly well. I know the jokes to crack. I know what to say, Nobody needs to remind me because I have done that for over 20 years. I have related with this, with that. And it is always a wonderful experience for me. Some of them have added value to me. I have also added value to some people, on and on and on like that….CONTINUE READING>>>
