P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka, disclosed this while briefing Journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

CP Nwonyi Emeka said that based on credible intelligence, operatives of the Command spotted a kidnapping gang led by Nwodi Onuigwe in Ogoloma, Okirika Local Government Area and on sighting the operatives, the hoodlums open fired.

According to the CP, the suspect, Onuigwe, has been on watch list of the Police and has killed Policemen including innocent persons in the state.

The Commissioner disclosed that some natives of Elibrada have deserted their home due to the criminal activities of Onuigwe and his gang.

The Rivers Police Boss said Onuigwe and his gang were confirmed dead at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

The Commissioner revealed that the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area has redeemed the pledged he made to give two million Naira to anybody who will give information that can lead to the arrest of Onuigwe.

CP Emeka, who also revealed that hoodlums operating at East West Road between Ovekwu and Oduoha in Emohua Local Government Area kidnapped five victims who were rescued by the Police based on intelligence gathering, said four more already abducted victims were rescued unhurt in the process.

The Commissioner of Police, while speaking further, explained that Police personnel on Saturday 10th June, 2023 along Railway Club intercepted a Toyota Camry custom colour driven by Kingsley Simeon and Arinze with different plate numbers while adding that charms were also recovered and the investigation is ongoing.

CP Nwonyi Emeka called on parents/guardians to monitor the activities of their children/wards so as to ensure they do not succumb to societal pressures to commit crimes and thanked the press for continued support….CONTINUE READING
