Nine warning signs of deadly silent killer as number of cases on the rise

Experts have shared nine key warning signs of liver cancer as cases of the disease rise.

Your risk of developing cancer depends on many factors including your age, genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors. Although liver cancer can happen at any age, it is most common in older people.

According to research from Cancer Research, liver cancer mortality rates have more than tripled between 2017 to 2019. Liver cancer is the 8th most common cause of cancer death in the UK, accounting for three per cent of all cancer deaths, reports Bristol Post.

The disease is now the fastest rising cause of cancer deaths in the UK. The case rates are predicted to rise by six per cent between 2023 and 2025, according to Liver Cancer UK.

The NHS website says: “Many of these symptoms are very common and can be caused by different conditions.. Having them does not definitely mean you have liver cancer. But it’s important to get them checked by a GP. This is because if they’re caused by cancer, finding it early may mean it’s easier to treat.”
